About Our Catnip
We welcome From the Field as our organic catnip grower! From the Field catnip is organically grown in the USA in the state of Washington in the best outdoor conditions: high elevation, good drainage, and a warm and dry climate.
We receive only the most recent yearly harvest from plants that have reached full maturity, thus maximizing their essential bloom and oil potency. Our catnip is always fresh and aromatic.
Why Catnip? Because Cats Go Crazy Over It!
The active natural chemical present in catnip is called nepetalactone. Cats have a special gland on the roof of their mouths called the vomeronasal gland. Nepetalactone is similar to a cat’s natural pheromones, and it is through that gland that cats get the well-known effect of catnip. Catnip is safe for kittens. Cats will start reacting to catnip at around 6 months of age.
